Dear Yoga Community,
Westfield Yoga Center has suspended all ongoing, and specialty classes and series. Effective March 16, 2020, this is in response to new Massachusetts state guidelines issued Sunday night focused on the containment of the coronavirus.
We remain committed to yoga as a powerful vehicle for personal health and community well-being. We are now considering alternative ways to meet this mission while keeping everyone as safe as possible. Be assured, you will be updated accordingly as we respond to this fluid situation.
Tom and Sally
The Westfield Yoga Center focuses on Hatha yoga, which is the yoga of the body. Hatha yoga uses warm-ups, physical postures, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques to bring about a wide range of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits. It brings about union or integration of body, mind, and spirit.
Westfield Yoga Center owners,Tom Swochak and Sally Barber had been married for 15 years in 1993 when they enrolled in Westfield Yoga Center’s inaugural class. Their intention “to do yoga together” was more than fulfilled: four years later they assumed ownership of the center! Tom’s business background in management and accounting and Sally’s experience in clinical rehabilitation and supervision create an ideal combination for managing a yoga center. Tom enjoys combining student and teacher support with the business tasks essential for maintaining a viable enterprise. Sally loves teaching yoga and balances classes with a variety of administrative and environmental tasks. Both are involved in program development and community outreach.
Westfield Yoga Center seeks to maximize individual health and community well being through the medium of yoga. The WYC has served this mission for over 20 years.
