Expand & Explore Series

The Expand Explore eight-week series format is designed for students with prior yoga experience and is ideal for graduates of the Yoga for Beginners course. An eight-week series allows participants to expand their personal practice in a supportive group setting. Each series focuses on a specific style and/or theme to broaden your yoga experience. While all Expand and Explore series will provide participants with a rewarding yoga experience, the level of physical challenge desired varies from student to student. To help a student choose the series that is best for each of them, we have given a physical challenge rating for each series of Easy, Moderate or Strong.

                        ~Three Added Bonuses~
1. While enrolled in an eight-week series, you may attend additional classes from the drop-in schedule for half price,
only $5 per class!
2. At the end of the series you'll receive full credit for classes missed and not made up during the series (ie: $10 for each missed class).  You may apply this credit to yoga classes or merchandise at the Westfield Yoga Center "Yoga Mall".
3. Register for a 2nd eight-week series that overlaps the 1st and receive a 20% discount off the fee for the 2nd series.

Class Descriptions

                Beyond the Basics

Students will review basic postures, experience more challenging variations, and/or be guided into longer holdings of the poses. Breathing exercises and deep relaxation are included in each class. Teachers tailor sessions to group members while also providing adaptations for individual needs.

                Gentle Yoga with Cheryl

Gentle Yoga with Cheryl includes a variety of non-threatening yoga poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques in each class.  Those recovering from an illness or dealing with chronic conditions find it a perfect  combination of safe exercise and healing rest.  Cheryl has a gift for making everyone feel happy to be in this gentle yoga class.

                                   Flow Yoga

Flow yoga is a beautiful way to connect the body, mind, heart, and spirit. Sequences bring one pose into another in a flowing fashion. It serves as a healthy yet moderate physical exercise program for those with prior yoga experience. Flow yoga classes end with a well-deserved period of deep relaxation.

Pilates Yoga

Pilates/Yoga classes provide a whole body workout in a meditative manner. Basic yoga postures are used as are core strengthening exercises.  This practice tones and strengthens the abdominals, which helps to reduce low back pain and to improve posture.

Fitness Fusion

For fun and fitness come to this dynamic series that is a fusion of flow yoga, pilates and  calisthenics!  For strength and toning come to this energetic series that will make you enjoy working out!  For a powerful yet light-hearted challenge designed for all levels of ability, come to Fitness Fusion!

Power Yoga

Power Yoga develops overall strength and endurance while it fosters balance and flexibility.  There is a particular emphasis on the core and alignment.  Although this is a challenging practice, it is appropriate for all levels of fitness.  The body and breath are linked in a flowing, vinyasa style of yoga.  These continuous movements are great for keeping the mind centered and calm.  At the end, a great feeling of relaxation is created.

             Women's Support Group
     Explore Your Inner Self Through Yoga

Each session will include yoga, relaxation and the opportunity for personal sharing and support.  Topics will vary as we journey together to explore our own inner truth.  Join us as we build connections tha could last a lifetime.  Bring a small journal for personal reflections. No prior yoga experience necessary for this series.

                     Yoga for Men

Yoga was created by men and shared only with men until the last century.  The special exercises, breath work, relaxation, and meditation made them healthier and wiser and created strong interpersonal bonds.  Now men can once again practice together, without women.  Group members can expect to stretch and sweat physically; calm and clear mentally; improve sports performance; and enhance their sexual potency.
